Christmas Recap...a little late

Christmas was quiet, calm, and uneventful...they way it should be.  The boys were actually excited about HoHo so it was really fun.  Here are some photos:

The boys got chocolate advent calendars from DG.

Presents from HoHo!!!!

After gifts, we go into the living room to play with the new loot.  Louden looks out the door and says "deer".  Sure enough, right in our neighbors yard.

just on the other side of our driveway here.

At Greg & Kiki's (Aunt Nikki) where we consumed so much pretzels & dip, it should be illegal.

CHEESE! Louden up front in this one.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  Now we move on to Birthday season :)  Beware of Wanted Cowboys.

Cookies for Ho Ho

Another first for me, Christmas Cookies.  I always let my Mom handle that and since we're never home on Christmas, I've never taken the effort.  Plus, we don't do well with cookies in the house (read: cookies don't last here)....that could be bad.

I still cheated and used a boxed sugar cookie mix.  And since I don't have a rolling pin, cookie cutters, or patience, our cookies were round.  We had buttercream icing with green sugar and red hots.  I wasn't going to offer too many options, I wasn't really sure how this was going to go.

Keegan was obviously very excited to get started.

Mommy iced, Louden sprinkled, Keegan added red hots.  Then we switched, but no one but Mommy was getting anywhere near the icing.

We're done.....very little mess and no meltdowns :)
In hindsight, the redhots were probably not a good idea.  Keegan sampled one and reacted with a seizure like episode demonstrating his hatred for all things spicy.  Louden was a quick learner, he only licked his red hot.   Dually noted Keegan.  We'll find something else red for next year.

Snow Day

Until this  year, we've never let the boys play outside in the snow much.  It always was too much work, too cold, and we didn't have the right gear.  We're still lacking in the gear department, but the boys don't seem to mind.  Playing in the snow has become a daily event.

Mama's jogging

Mama's got a new adventure, jogging.  I can't say that I'm running, due to the lack of speed involved. But, it's a start.

Remember Parker's Mom, Vicky?  She talked me into signing up for a program that prepares you for a half marathon.

Our goal race is the Capital City Half Marathon to be held on May 07, 2011. To be perfectly honest, I didn't think 20 weeks was long enough to prepare for this.  I'm not a runner, never have been.

Now that we're 3 weeks in and I am able to keep up with the training guidelines.  I'm getting more confidence.  With tons of support from family and close friends, I'm getting excited about running.  Who am I?

It is challenging to take the time to jog 5 days a week.  Most of the time, you will find me in our basement after the boys go to sleep.  If only there were more hours in a day.
